Lakeside Launch: Kisumu Congregation Commences in Kenya

Much of Jesus’ recorded ministry took place around lakes. And recently the Kenya churches had the distinction of launching a congregation in the city of Kisumu on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest fresh water lake. Kisumu, home to a population of over 500,000 people, is the third largest city in Kenya and the principal city of western Kenya. Lake Victoria is the source of the River Nile.

New Leadership in East Africa

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We pray that the Almighty God continues to sustain all of you wherever you are.

The Nairobi Christian Church has been under the leadership of George and Anne Irungu and Steve and Caroline Mukenya who have been co-leading for the last 8 years.  They have done a phenomenal job in steering the churches in Eastern Africa to the point where they are today, and for that the entire church is truly grateful.

A Cry for Help: Ivory Coast Video

July 17 has been set as the day for the International Churches of Christ to donate in response to this cry for help that comes from Abidjan, Ivory Coast in West Africa. Traumatized by the violence of civil war, our brothers and sisters in our Abidjan Church of Christ now face 50% unemployment with little food and water. Hundreds lost everything and are now living like refugees. Over 1100 disciples are without jobs. 400 college students are without housing and food.

In terms of the number of our members affected and duration of suffering, this is the largest humanitarian crisis our churches have ever seen. Please help these desperate disciples.

See below for how you can help and to see the Abidjan video. Click here to donate to this crucial need.

Family and Youth Conference, Men’s Day and New Evangelist in Nigeria

The saints in Nigeria recently celebrated three exciting events - the first ever Youth and Family Conference, a new evangelist appointed in Lagos, and Men's Day in Abuja.

From generation to generation, God has always emphasized the paramount importance of the family unit in the life of a nation. It is the need to pass on God's commands to our children that informed the first-ever four-day Youth and Family Conference in Lagos.
