Monday, 25 April 2011 01:57

Isaac Gotingar (in photo bandaged), a former missionary to Mauritania was walking several kilometers to the church office when he suddenly found himself caught in the shooting between the warring armies...

He was on his way to obtain support for the house of single brothers he leads in the neighborhood of Riviera Anono. Isaac had reached a main intersection of the city A shell went off a few feet from him and he received several pieces of shrapnel in the thigh. A few soldiers picked him up and put him to the side of the road and called the Red Cross. Isaac spent several hours bleeding as he waited help. After a while, he dragged himself to a house to ask for help. He was turned away. Then he called his zone leader who informed him that one of the doctors from the HOPE clinic lived nearby. When the brother was informed he came out and carried Isaac the half kilometer to his house and cared for him. He is recovering, but Isaac continues to need antibiotics and food. And he and the church need our continued prayers. See the needs here from Hopeww
