She's been married almost 25 years to Rick Soter - both Rick and Ellen were part of the original Seattle mission team in 1989. 
They have two children, a girl named Ali who is 20 and a son, John, who is 17. Ellen studied English in college and have been involved with writing in some form or another for work and pleasure for many years. Right now she is in the process of writing a children's book. She and her husband are bible talk leaders and have served as deacons.
The actress playing the woman from John 4 is Emily Berensohn - a daughter of David & Christine Berensohn. Emily is 17 years old. She has been a Chrisitan for about a year. Being a teenager and a disciple of Jesus is tough, but she handles it with such faith and is extremely fun to be around. She is involved in theater and choir in high school and has a wonderful voice.
