Haitian Disciple Pleas for His Homeland
Dear brothers and sisters around the world,
My name is Robert, and I am a Haitian disciple now living in St Vincent and the Grenadines, in the eastern Caribbean. I left my homeland in February 2007, as I worked for a large construction company that sent me to St. Vincent to complete a contract, and expected to return to Haiti after a few months. But God had other plans for my life.
Hurricane Matthew in Haiti: Several Members Displaced, Church Leaders Homeless
HOPE worldwide is sending immediate response help to Haiti and assessing the longer term recovery needs for long term recovery assistance. Please donate to the HOPEww Disaster Fund by clicking on the red badge. And please spread the word on social media, church websites, email, etc.
Houses damaged, rooftops gave way to the winds and rain, disciples are displaced, and at least one church leader couple has lost their home, along with others who have lost all their earthly possessions. That’s the news coming out of our fellowship of churches in Haiti, as the disciples assess the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, the largest hurricane to hit the nation in almost 50 years.

A Sudden Loss for the Jamaican Church
The members of the church in Jamaica are grieving the sudden and tragic passing of a faithful brother, Dolkeith Harriott. Violence is always tragic, but it has been many years since a violent act has taken the life of a member of the church. Therefore, it was shocking when news began to spread that on September 10, 2015, Dolkeith was shot and killed while locking the doors of the business at which he worked as a manager.
Caribbean Missions Conference 2015: "According to Your Faith"
The family of the International Churches of Christ in the Caribbean exists in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Barbados, Suriname, Guyana, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Grenada and the Bahamas. Our history included a time when all Caribbean leaders were trained in Jamaica, which enabled strong friendships to be formed. This natural bond continues today, and the churches are more united in love, mission, and purpose than ever before. Every two years, the members of our churches meet together in a selected country to strengthen our unity, inspire each other in the mission of Jesus, learn how to grow our churches, and formulate plans to spread the gospel to other countries in the Caribbean. This year’s conference, entitled, “According to Your Faith,” will take place at the Jamaica Conference Centre in Kingston, Jamaica from October 16-18, 2015.
Virgin Islands ICOC Refreshed After 8th Annual Summer Retreat
Back in 2007, the disciples on this island of tourism decided they needed a little down time and spiritual revival. Whereas disciples in the States would normally have a conference that they could go to, the expense of getting off St. Thomas and traveling to the mainland made it prohibitive for many of the members. So, the disciples decided to spend a weekend at one of the most beautiful eco-tourism resorts in the Caribbean, Estate Concordia.
