A Courageous Mother, an Extraordinary Baptism
Fifteen years ago in Kathmandu a little boy was born. Doctors knew something was amiss but they didn’t know exactly what. So they told his mother to neglect him and “let nature take its course”. Sadly that is the way children with special needs are treated in many parts of the world. His parents were strong disciples. In fact they were leading the Kathmandu church at the time. They loved their baby and they were determined to fight for him.
Faithful Till the End
When the Bangalore church was started in February of 1988 Stella was one of the very first women to be baptized. She was seventeen years old. She and her younger sister Doris both became disciples. They were 100% committed from day one. The Bangalore church started with a bang. 146 people were baptized that first year. Stella helped with a lot of the studies. She quickly became a leader and went on her first mission team to the city of Chennai (then called Madras) as a one year old disciple.
Prema, Refined by Trials
There is nothing like the faith of a woman who has been tested and refined by the trials of life. Prema is a shining light to the Indian sisters and a tremendous example of faith, courage, and perseverance.

Happy Mother's Day to My Courageous Mom
Gloria Herradura Fontelera Gammon. This is a name that represents a woman who does not forget where she came from, who remembers what she has been through, rejoices with what she has, and is hopeful for the future. That is a name that represents a woman who could have used any number of reasons to give up on God and give in to Satan. Instead she held on to God as tightly as she could. This is the name of my mother.
Her Strength Comes from God
Every time Sonia attends a meeting of the church she knows that as soon as she returns home she will get severely beaten. Her family do not support her commitment. They are desperately trying to get her to give up on Jesus by inflicting violence on her several times a week.

And she was absolutely beautiful in heart, in spirit, and in person.” Those words were written last month by one of Nicole’s friends, Pamela McClinton.
