Where is My Mission Field? The Story of Portland, Maine

In the summer of 2010, twelve disciples moved up to Portland, Maine to help plant a church. After handing out 10,000 fliers, they had their first service on September 12, with 103 people in attendance. There were eight baptisms in Portland that year, and along with some additional move-ins, 2010 was brought to a close with 26 disciples in the Casco Bay Church of Christ.

One Year Challenge Mixer at ICMC

We are two weeks away from epic International Campus Conferences!  ICMC West will be held San Diego, California while the ICMC East will be held in Orlando, Florida. We are excited about the theme of "Bent on Conquest".  Now more than ever we must be bent on conquering our campuses today so we reach the world.   In a world that has a population of over 7 billion souls we must all decide to be missionaries. Many of you are feeling called to take the One Year Challenge (OYC) locally, domestically or internationally.  One thing is for sure, we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.  Don’t let fear stop you from giving your entire life to advancing the kingdom.  We will have a One Year Challenge Mixer at both East and West Coast ICMCs!  If you are interested in taking the OYC please come to our OYC Mixer!  You can hear from the OYC site leaders and ask questions of evangelists and ministry leaders from around the world.  If you are interested in attending the OYC Mixer make sure you get there early and get ready to catch a vision for where God may be sending you!

Am I Being Called?

This is a question every Christian asks him or herself at one time or another, and it can be a very scary question, particularly if it means leaving family, friends, good jobs, selling homes, and even abandoning or setting aside personal dreams and hopes. So scary is this question, in fact, that many avoid answering it, perhaps leaving it all up to God to answer through some kind of special spiritual experience. When asked, one can simply say, “God hasn’t called me.” However, this is the wrong approach to dealing with this question.

Seattle Offers "History Makers" Internship Program

What if you had a year with no work, no distractions and an intense desire to live as Jesus did? What if you spent a year of your life being trained to be a disciple capable of training others and leading leaders? Starting fall of 2013, we want to invite young men and women with an opportunity to serve full-time for a year while you live with host families in the Seattle Church and participate in local, regional and foreign missions. Our goal is that you would spend a year being trained in all aspects of the full time ministry.

Trading Comfort for Fruitfulness through the One-Year Challenge

“Every disciple is a missionary.” Does this sound familiar? Many disciples have heard and live by this statement, going in search of the lost residents of their hometowns and cities that are lingering in coffee shops, wandering the aisles in grocery stores and shopping centers, loitering in parks, or walking the campuses of local colleges. We take this idea of “every disciple is a missionary” deep in our hearts as we reach out to our friends, to our neighbors, and to our coworkers. And why not? This is where most of us live.

Copenhagen, Denmark - A One-Year Challenge City

Disciples that love the lost and that are looking for a way into the mission field are needed all over the globe. At Disciple Adventures, we connect eager brothers and sisters with disciples that are planting new churches, building new campus ministries, and advancing God’s Kingdom through our one-year challenge program.

One of these one-year challenge cities is Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a city of 1.9 million people with 26 universities. These universities are home to approximately 150,000 students. The new campus ministry leaders, Landon and Gina Rawson, need dedicated disciples to take up the one-year challenge and help them build up a campus ministry that can begin the huge task of reaching these lost students.
