Akinbayo (Bayo) Daniel Adefolu made Jesus the Lord of his life on January 17, 2018 at the Ikeja-Ketu region in Lagos. To my wife and I, this was a big victory and answered prayer!

Almost nothing is more dear to our hearts than our children. We all want to see them baptized and doing great things for God someday, but statistics are daunting. According to The Barna Group, a research firm, less than 25% of the children of church members become involved themselves, with girls twice as likely as boys to do so. Though this is a statistic from all churches that purport to be Christian, the point is still relevant and comparable in our family of churches.

Kindergarten. That’s where Cheryl’s son was first exposed to pornography.

How could this happen? Cheryl [not her real name] had taken every precaution to prevent this. As a certified sex addiction therapist, she had a fierce determination to protect her son from pornography. Her home computer was protected by the best filtering systems, and she was cautious about where her son played. She had even invested thousands of dollars to send her son to a well-respected Christian private school.

This is probably the most challenging phase for the majority of parents. Of course, every teenager is different, but this is the transition between childhood and adulthood. Our temptation is to want them to remain children, and they are dying to be adults, hence the tension.

John and Karen Louis, researchers and authors of Good Enough Parenting and ministers in the Central Christian Church, will be collaborating with Lubbock Christian University this fall.

Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told” -- Habakkuk 1:5.

We still cannot believe what God has done for us in the past three years within the Southern Africa family of churches. It has been amazing to watch God work and help us revive camp for our children.
