2011 Singles Cruise - FAQ's

CRUISE FAQ INFORMATION

1. Can I register for this group directly through the cruiseline? No, the only way to register for this group on the ship is to register through our DT Travel Coordinator, Sally Hooper. Please complete both steps of the Registration process and then Sally will work with you personally to finalize your reservation.

2. What is the Registration Fee for? The DToday registration fee covers the costs to plan, organize, publicize and direct this group event just as in other seminars, conferences, etc. that involve organizing groups of people for a major event.

3. How much does it cost?

Cruise reservation: all meals onboard except for specialty restaurants and drinks

- Interior staterooms: from $699 plus tax per person

- Balcony staterooms: from $929 plus tax per person

Other Personal Costs:

  • Taxes: Due with final payment for cruise.
  • Gratuities: will be paid onboard ship as with any other cruise.
  • Onshore excursions: select and pay at your discretion
  • Personal shopping and spending money
  • Transportation to and from the port.

4. Passports/Visas - Make sure your passport is current and does not expire until 6 months after the date of return. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you may need visas to visit the ports of call. Please check with your embassy for the proper process to obtain these documents.

5. Flights - You will make your own flight arrangements from your home city to the port of departure.

6. Arriving at Departure City - It is recommended that you arrive a day early to avoid flight delays. You will be able to board the ship at approx. 11:30am on the day of sailing. You must be onboard at least 90 minutes prior to sailing or your stateroom may be canceled. Allow 4-5 hours after the ship docks for return flights.

7. Travel Folder - Start a travel folder with cruise, hotel, and flight information.

  • Register with the DToday Singles Caribbean Tour. The only place you can register for our group is on DT Travel. Once Sally reserves your stateroom with our group on Celebrity, she will send you a confirmation number you can use to log into the Celebrity website www.celebrity.com Here are some of the things you can do on www.celebrity.com
  • Correct Information - If you have found any wrong information (name, etc.) when you checked in online at Celebrity, please let Sally know. It is vital that your first and last name match your passport.
  • Celebrity Website Information - Please read all of the pertinent information on the Celebrity website that pertains to your trip, what to pack, weather, money, gratuities, etc.
  • Immigration Registration - You will need to give immigration information on www.celebrity.com Click on the link at the top of the page "Before Your Cruise" and then click on "Online Check-in."
  • Shore Excursions - Register for shore excursions. You can still register on the ship, but some of the more popular excursions could sell out.

9. Travel Insurance – Sally will help you to purchase this valuable insurance. Without this insurance, you would lose all of your money paid for the cruise if you were not able to go. Also, insurance covers medical emergencies out of the country.

10. Special Needs - Please let Sally know if you have special needs that the cruiseline would need to be aware of. Please read the cruiseline’s rules on pregnancy and infant travel.

11. Important Documents - Make copies of all important documents to be kept in a separate place in case your original documents are lost or stolen on the trip. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT WITH YOU.

12. Credit Card/Bank - Notify your credit card company/bank of the dates you will be out of the country.

13. Size/Weight of Bags - Check with your airline about the size and number of bags that you can take with you. Remember that it is important to keep your bags within the airline’s weight restrictions.

14. Money Onboard Ship – Onboard the ship is cashless. Your room card is your charge card as well as the card you will use as you enter and exit the ship.

15. Maid Service – You will have twice-a-day maid service as well as waiters, etc. who will wait on you all week. Gratuities can be paid at the end of the cruise. Please see the Celebrity website for gratuity suggestions.

16. Meals/Drinks – All of your meals in the main restaurants are included in the cruise price. Specialty restaurants, specialty coffees, alcohol, soft drinks, gift shop items, spa treatments, etc. are extra.

17. Ship Newspaper – You will have a ship “newspaper” delivered to your cabin each evening that will inform you of the next day’s ship activities.

18. Singles – If for some reason you need to cancel, please find a replacement for yourself. The cruiseline sells staterooms based on two passengers per stateroom. You will be liable for your portion if you cancel.

19. Dinner Onboard – The whole group will be meeting for dinner together each evening.

20. Electronic Tickets – Your cruise documents will be sent to you electronically approximately one month before the cruise. Please make sure that Sally has your correct e-mail address.
