Movie Licensing for Use of Copyrighted DVDs and Videos for ICOC Churches

Good news! We would like to offer you an opportunity to obtain a license from Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) for the use of copyrighted movies and video images for your church. This will enable you to be legal in much the same way that you have secured a license for the use of copyrighted songs for your church services. A license like this is required in order to legally show video and movie clips to your congregation during church services or at any other time.

Movie Licensing for USA Based First World Churches

CVLI / ICOC Program Information letter

To:  USA based first world churches of the International Churches of Christ

Subject: Licensing for Use of Copyrighted DVDs and Videos

Dear All,

This solution has come about as a result of negotiations that began when I tried to get licensing through Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) for the Singapore church.

With this CVLI Total Package annual license, your church will be able to use movies from any of MPLC/CVLI’s approved studios for an unlimited number of times for that year.   For a list of movie studios (over 400), please visit the CVLI website (www.CVLI.com).

And the rates are very affordable – depending on the size of your congregation, the maximum amount would be around US $650 per year.  A typical church of less than 1,000 members would be $280 or less annually.  Please click Pricing at CVLI.com for exact pricing information for your church size.

ICOC churches pay the same fees as other churches.  But, as additional benefits only to the ICOC, CVLI has also agreed to donate 10% of your license fee to HOPE worldwide and to also provide very special rates for ICOC churches in developing countries!  Your support for CVLI by getting properly licensed helps to make these ICOC benefits possible. Please note the Family Values Package, which does not include major studios, is not available under this special ICOC program.

Details are available at www.CVLI.com

Please register by going to www.CVLI.com and completing the online application under the Apply Online tab.  You must select the Total Producer Package and indicate your affiliation with the International Churches of Christ (ICOC) under Church/Organization Details to obtain the contribution to HOPE worldwide.

Thank you for joining us in this effort to be above reproach in the area of copyright observance, in accordance with the scriptures in II Corinthians 8: 21: For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only inrhe eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.

Shepherds Building Unity

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; 3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
1 Peter 5:1 – 4

What a joy it is to serve as elders in our fellowship of churches and witness the great works that God is doing among us.  This makes our work exciting and makes each of us very willing to serve in our churches.  We are very encouraged by our growth and progress since the International Leadership Conference in Denver and look forward to an exciting year together in 2010!

Campus Ministry Continues Surge

The Campus Service Team was very excited to see 21 Campus Conferences last year in 20 different nations around the world.  Over 4500 students attended. After a humble beginning in San Antonio in 2005, with an attendance of 300, the growth has been exciting.  See our 2009 video report HERE .

These last few months have been spent working hard on campus, and planning new conferences this year.  Our goal in 2010 is to have 25 International Campus Ministry Conferences around the world.

Evangelists Present 2020 Vision

In September 2009 at their annual meeting in Denver, the Delegates of the International Churches of Christ approved the proposal to change the “Church Builders Service Team” and the “Missions Service Team” to form one “Evangelists Service Team” with the charge of providing inspiration and strategic planning for our fellowship of churches.
