Single brothers and sisters are using their faith, time, resources and talents to encourage disciples all around the world! This year, SURGE (Singles United Representing God Everywhere) Singles Missions is taking a big step forward by coordinating trips to Africa. The purpose of these trips is to encourage our brothers and sisters in churches where fewer disciples are able to visit.
There are three trips being planned right now (Botswana in June, Tanzania in July, and Zimbabwe TBD). The Botswana trip will focus on encouraging the disciples and outreach. In Tanzania, the disciples will focus on outreach, serving with HOPE worldwide, and there will be an opportunity to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. In Zimbabwe, the disciples will spend time encouraging the church, particularly the singles ministry.
There's one additional opportunity this year to encourage the church in Ethiopia. From May 20-31, a single Ethiopian brother from the Northern Virginia Church will be in Addis Ababa. He will welcome any singles that would like to come encourage the church there.
