Greater Nashville Church Celebrates 25 Years
In the mid-1980s the seeds of the Greater Nashville Church were planted by two small groups—one in the tiny Tennessee town of Hartsville and the other in the city of Nashville. By 1988 these two groups had come together and invited in leaders from Boston church who led the church in a formal beginning in August 1988. On August 25, 2013, the Greater Nashville Church celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a service in the sprawling and sparkling new Music City Center in downtown Nashville.Kirkpatricks Called to Lead Columbia, SC Church
“Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” -- Acts 13:1-3Disciples in the Arts Honor King Family with Song
Back In 2009, The Greater Atlanta Church of Christ (GACC) honored Mrs. Naomi Ruth Barber King with the 2009 HOPE Worldwide Living Legacy Award. Mrs. King is the sister-in-law of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. and widow to Dr. A.D. King who was also slain during the civil rights movement.
Recently, Tony Martin, teamed up with The Elements, a positive hip-hop group hailing from the Columbia, South Carolina Church of Christ. Together they produced a song "The Dream Realized." This month, together with Fabrice Clerger, from South Florida, they recorded the song. This weekend it was performed in Atlanta before members of the King Family as part of celebrating MLK day. And the King family has added the song to the MLK, Jr. archives!

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end...
Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2,11,15
