Marshall Hopkins Passes on to Be With the Lord

Monday, 25 June 2012 02:30

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

With heavy hearts we report that our dear brother, Marshall Hopkins, passed away this past Thursday, June 21, 2012 from complications related to a stroke he had earlier this week.

Having been a faithful Christian for more than 25 years, Marshall was a great inspiration to all of us here in Cincinnati. Marshall, his wife Marina, and his family showed us time after time, through good times and bad, that their hearts are with us all. Known for deep love for God's word and for personal example, Marshall served in many leadership roles in the church and was appointed as an elder with us two years ago.

Our heartfelt prayers go out to Marina, Sjaya, and Taylor, and all of Marshall's family.

Details about Marshall's Memorial Service and the Hopkins Family Memorial Fund are available at the Cincinnati Church website.

Our worship this morning was bittersweet as we were all reminded by our brother Marshall that this world indeed is not our home. This is a difficult time for the Hopkins family and for the church family. We are reminded that our God is full of compassion, abounding in love, and He will provide the strength and comfort we all need at this time.
