Unsung Heroes of the Caribbean

In the Caribbean, we are blessed with warm sunshine, beautiful beaches and serene mountainsides, and our people reflect those qualities. At church, the fellowship is vibrant and the saints enjoy each others company as we share God's word with passion and love. These blessings sometimes over shadow the daily challenges we face as we strive to help grow God's church. There maybe many things we are not priviledged to have, but without a doubt, we have experienced God's favor through brothers and sisters who constantly keep the Caribbean close to their hearts.

We have been inspired by leaders like Scott and Dionne Davis, who have given their hearts sacrificially to teach at several events in the Caribbean. It was truly a privilege to have them as the key speakers at a Spiritual Enrichment Week-end for the Eastern Caribbean, hosted by the church here in St. Vincent. Their devotion to see God's word spread in the Caribbean is heart warming. Their efforts have helped to spark a desire for greater Caribbean unity and to dream dreams again. Since that time, there have been many more Caribbean conferences and a stronger partnership in the gospel has been forged among us. Thank you for always being a voice for the Caribbean. Your friendship and love has seen us through our tough times and you have been there to rejoice in our victories. Your love has conquered the miles.

We also wish to thank Brian and Michelle Santos who also have sacrificed time out of their busy schedule to come to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to inspire the hearts of the saints. You have called us higher in our worship and our song writers, have started writing again.

Last, but not least, we wish to thank Sean and Robin Barnes, whose perseverance and devotion to the Caribbean have been life changing for us and many others. They have been eager to go where they see the need, with a desire to mend the broken-hearted and strengthen the weak. Your self-sacrifice and compassion will never be forgotten.

To these our Unsung Heroes, we sing a song of gratitude, our lives and our churches have been blessed by knowing you and this song will be sung for generations to come. Thank you!

Love always,
Kirk and Sheree Spencer
St. Vincent and the Grenadines
