"So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then." -- Joshua 14:10-11
God had invested many years in developing and strengthening Caleb. Though he was getting "up there" in years, he was still as zealous to serve God and advance his Kingdom as he was in his younger years. He was probably a bit slower on the outside, and maybe had to take naps more often, but he was hungry to bring God glory on the inside. What an inspiring man of God!
We need more Calebs in the church today!
Perhaps you can become such a "Caleb Minister."
Are you a mature, married disciple? Are you reaching the end of your career and wondering "what's next?" Perhaps you do not have enough money to retire yet, due to high healthcare costs and some extra living expenses. But you don't want to keep giving your best years to your lifetime career. Or are you already retired, but are wanting to serve, help and impact God's Kingdom in a more significant way?
Are you hungering to do something truly eternally significant in your later, but still prime years? Would you consider becoming a "Caleb Minister?"
The Denver Church of Christ is seeking two or three mature married couples to be such "Caleb Ministers."
Practically, they would assist our Regional Evangelists and Women's Ministry Leaders in leading their Regions. They could have a fairly flexible, lighter schedule yet still be compensated enough to cover all their health care costs, business expenses, and even receive a modest salary. For empty nesters nearing retirement or already in retirement, this could be an incredible opportunity to pass on all that God has invested in you to others. These couples would help shepherd, counsel, plan, train, oversee, and disciple many of the other married leaders and married disciples in the church.
Regarding qualifications, we are looking for couples with strong marriages and many years of faithful service and leadership in the church. They should be competent in converting the lost, shepherding disciples, leading small groups, and able to help oversee and equip other Bible Talk Leaders.
In addition to the ways these couples would serve, they would also be a part of a thriving congregation and a part of a Leadership Team of 18 Full-Time staff members, including 5 Evangelist/Womens Ministry Leader couples, and 10 Elder couples. What an incredible place to serve and grow!
And to do all this in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the US News & World Report's number one ranked, "2016 Best Place to Live in the US"...
God may be calling you.
