Having your family carry you, unconscious and feverish, to a local hospital that took all of your savings for medications but refused to hospitalize you because you had no money left? Mr. Peam Thon, a struggling 45 year-old farmer from the impoverished Mondolokiri Province, arrived to SHCH unconscious and in the arms of his desperate family.
He was diagnosed with malaria, hospitalized and recovered just two weeks later. This was Peam's third time contracting this disease, which is prevalent in the remote part of Cambodia that he calls home.
