Remember the Poor Sunday Less Than One Month Away!

As Paul and Barnabas went out from Jerusalem to preach the gospel, Peter, James and John had only one request of them - "Remember the poor." In this spirit, HOPE worldwide and the International Churches of Christ would like to ask Christians around the world to set aside Sunday March 21 to "Remember the Poor."

Church leaders meeting at the International Leadership Conference in Denver last month rallied to the cause of the International Day of Giving, a new church wide fundraiser to sustain HOPE worldwide's humanitarian work in 2010. HOPE worldwide is hearing from churches and disciples from across the U.S. on a daily basis about their creative and exciting efforts to support this initiative.

HOPE worldwide CEO Speaks at ILC on Financial Challenges and “International Day of Giving”

Speaking to nearly a thousand church leaders at the recent International Leadership Conference (ILC) in Denver, HOPE worldwide CEO Randy Jordan said the organization has made 2009 budget cuts totaling $1 million and shared his concerns about financial challenges that threaten to undermine HOPE worldwide’s humanitarian programs.

Thanking church leaders and their congregations for being faithful donors, Jordan said church support is vital for HOPE worldwide during these difficult economic times. He asked for their support of an “International Day of Giving” scheduled for the first time in November 2009. The Day of Giving was endorsed by many churches and church leaders in Denver.

Amazing New Volunteer Opportunity - Spread the Word!

We have an amazing volunteer opportunity for disciples in your congregations! Bob and Pat Gempel are leading a "Compassion Tour" to Cambodia (November '09) in celebration of the Sihanouk Hospital's One Million Patients Consultations in Cambodia. Volunteers will have the chance to visit & serve in the Sihanouk hospital and some of the local community programs, sitesee, encourage the church in Phnom Penh, and experience the culture, food and people of Cambodia.
