New Kurgan Church Baptizes First Sister

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.

Acts 17:10-12

In second half of July of the newly planted Kurgan church, disciples shared their faith and met girl named Alena. Because Alena desired to communicate, to meet new people,so she stopped to talk with our sister, Tanya.

When she first came out, Alena came in order to meet new people. She showed no interest in studying the Bible. The Kurgan disciples invited her out to a picnic. The nature of the discussions and the example of close relationships shared at night near the fire (with terrible stories and jokes) inspired Alena to understand what connected the disciples. So Alena decided visit the Kurgan church of Christ. The Word of God deeply and strongly impacted Alena's heart. From that day, she resolved to learn what God says about how to be near him.

We were delighted and inspired by the openness of this modest and sociable girl to the Word of God. Each fragment from the Bible was met with a eager response and readiness to obey. Alena had many questions at each meeting she had the Bible in hand checking what the disciples taught.

During her studies, many brothers and sisters from other cities prayed God for Alena's baptism. I believe God heard these prayers and moved. On August 31^st, Alena was baptized into Christ.! Thank God!

В Кургане крестилась первая сестра

Братия же немедленно ночью отправили Павла и Силу в Верию, куда они прибыв, пошли в синагогу Иудейскую. Здешние были благомысленнее Фессалоникских: они приняли слово со всем усердием, ежедневно разбирая Писания, точно ли это так. И многие из них уверовали, и из Еллинских почетных женщин и из мужчин немало.

Деяния 17:10-12

Во второй половине июля, в первые дни начала церкви в Кургане ученики как обычно делились верой и встретили девушку Алену. Из-за свойственного ей интереса общаться, Алена остановилась и разговорилась c испускающей, как теперь она сама говорит, «флюиды положительности» девушкой. Это была наша сестра Таня.

На первые встречи Алена приходила просто, чтобы пообщаться с новыми людьми. Изучение Библии было на тот момент для нее не важным. В начале августа курганские ученики ходили в поход, куда позвали и Алену. Природа, общение, пример близких отношений, ночь у костра (с страшными историями и анекдотами), вдохновили Алену разобраться, что же связывает этих людей и Бога. Так Алена решила сходить на свое первое собрание Церкви Христа. Слово Бога глубоко и сильно поразило сердце Алены. С этого момента она решила, узнать, что Бог говорит людям, как быть с Ним.

К нашему всеобщему вдохновению эта скромная и общительная девушка оказалась очень открытой для Слова Бога. Каждый отрывок из Библии находил живой отклик и готовность следовать ему. У Алены было много вопросов, на всех встречах она была с Библией в руках, пыталась понять «точно ли это так», что говорят ей ученики.
