God blessed the 2,000 members of the Kiev Church of Christ with 190 baptisms in 2008. And they hosted the 2008 International Leadership Conference for the International Churches of Christ culminating in a Sunday service of over 5,000. This last weekend - January 24-25, three people were baptized in the West Region of the Kiev Church of Christ! Each of them has his own story....
Volodia came to Kiev from another region of Ukraine in search of a job but he found God instead. His first visit to church was during the International Leadership Conference "the EDGE". The disciples from a small town Irpen' near Kiev helped him on his way to the waters of baptism.
Lubava also came to Kiev from another region - from Vinnitsa. There were many disciples who took part in helping her to find God - from different regions of Kiev and even from the Kharkov Church of Christ! All of them were there celebrating her baptism.
Julia started attending church when she was 3 years old - her Mom Ira was baptized then. Juila is a real Kingdom kid - she went through Kids' Kingdom program, pre-teens - now she is a part of teens ministry. We should note that it was just her Mom who was raising Julia. It is very touching to hear her words on the video: "I could feel God's love not as Love of my Creator but as a Father, as a love of my Dad."
