Caribbean Missions Update: Grenada, Fall 2014 ^Featured

1st Anniversary Service - August

After many fun and evangelistic activities during our summer campaign months, we celebrated the first anniversary of our re-launch in mid-August! All the members of the mission team, and the disciples who remained from the original church, reflected in awe on the unbelievable journey we have experienced over the past year, as God grew our faith in leaps and bounds, and our ministry from 10 to 16 disciples! To God be the glory! 
   

HOPE (worldwide) Grenada "Positive Choice" Youth Program

We were given the wonderful opportunity to serve the community in mid-September, as HOPE (worldwide) Grenada, partnered with the Ministry of Youth and Religious Affairs to present the POSITIVE CHOICE Youth Program to almost 30 youths! It was truly a miracle of faith, as the government ministry provided all the sponsorship support we needed. Almando and Janelle Quow, who together lead the church in St Vincent & the Grenadines, joined us in teaching “Abstinence Until Marriage” to youths ages 14 to 18 years.

The project included television and radio interviews, and a four-part radio program called “Positive Vibrations,” hosted by our very own Richard Beadle and Junior Jackson. We have even started discussions on how we can take the message of Positive Choice to schools in 2015 – the Lord be praised!

"Higher Level" Concert featuring Rizon from Trinidad!

Our "Positive Choice" weekend of activities included a free event dubbed the “HIGHER LEVEL” gospel concert! Several local bands were on hand, but the highlight of the evening was our own brother and sister, Shane “Rizon” Gibson and his wife Sue, from the church in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Rizon is a powerful worship leader and gospel artiste, and they did us proud with their energetic and inspired performance at the Grenada Trade Center. Check out Rizon's hit song "Higher Level" >

Of course, such a powerful weekend would be incomplete without a special Sunday service to top it all off! The worship was led by Shane and Sue, and Almando delivered the main message. We are so grateful for the love, fellowship and brotherhood that we can experience from the churches all across the Caribbean!

Continued Leadership Training & Support

During the summer, the Damian Jean-Baptiste Caribbean School of Ministry was launched, and our leaders were privileged to receive your financial support and sponsorship to attend the first Module in Trinidad. This was not the only funding received; we were also able to participate in the Caribbean Leaders Meeting in October, hosted by the Suriname church! On the way to Suriname, Richard & Romania spent a few days with the disciples in Guyana, teaching and encouraging them at their mid-week service! This continued leadership training and support is only made possible because of the freewill offering of saints in many parts of the world, who give towards Caribbean missions. All our churches are so thankful for your love and sacrifices for us!
