"God and Science:" Good Theology Makes Good Press

Dr. John Oakes, of the San Diego Church of Christ, has an uncanny ability to look at the world through the eyes of a scientist and witness the hand of God. This has been his life's work, to explain the Christian faith to a generation of Americans who require ever-more "proof" of God before they will believe.

Recently, John's lecture at the University of Connectucut was featured in the campus newspaper:

Oaks explained why he feels science shows that Christianity was true. He showed that the Old Testament of the Bible contains laws on health practices, such as the disposal of dead bodies and pregnancy rituals, that greatly reduced disease among the ancient Israelites. He also claimed that it would have been impossible for the Israelites to have developed these practices on their own or absorbed these practices from surrounding nations.
