Over the July 4th weekend, approximately 1800 Florida and Louisiana disciples gathered for the FDC 2015 “RISE” in Orlando, Florida. This was a time to experience four conferences in one (Marriage, High-School, Middle-School and Singles).The shining star of the weekend was the Singles Conference, headed up by Matt and Deanna Newburg who oversee approximately 550 single disciples in Florida and Louisiana. Who better to ask to be the key-note speakers than Wade and Debbie Cook (Denver, Colorado), who currently spearhead our International Singles Service Team (ISST), representing single disciples all over the world.
Wade kicked off the conference with a bang, inviting over 250 singles into his “living room for a chat.” The “Cruise’n In Orlando” after-party was amazing, with dancing (calypso-dance lessons), full-court basketball, two volleyball courts, and other cruise games.
Local heroes such as Sam & Geri Laing, John and Barbara Porter, Anthony and Karlyn Battle, along with Adam & Bethany Smith (Dallas, Texas), Larry and Kim Reed (Boston) and Bill and Kristen Moulden (teacher & wife from Chicago) called the singles to “RISE”! We look forward to the inspiration from the conference to build momentum in the singles ministry throughout the churches here in Florida and Louisiana. To God be the glory!
