Chun Guo’s story is truly inspiring. She comes from a Buddhist background and came to the United States recently to pursue a career. As she worked as an intern for a couple, Anita and Greg Cullen, she watched their lives and saw their faith in God. After coming to church she studied the bible and her faith in God grew. Her boyfriend, Richard, who had a true desire to walk with God, also inspired her to pursue God. She shared during one bible study that she had always felt God calling her and His love for her. Through all of this, Chun's heart for God blossomed to the point that she completely surrendered and gave her life to Him. The joy, confidence and freedom in her life are palpable and it is so clear that she deeply loves Him.
Both Shawn and Chandra worked with a disciple, Sydney Johnson. As a single woman, Chandra studied the bible after several invites! An injury and time off from work was the catalyst for her to have more time to reflect on her relationship with God and with Shawn. Shawn saw her changing and also studied the bible. He moved out and lived with disciples and then they were married. After their wedding they continued to study the bible and on November 3 Shawn was baptized and immediately baptized Chandra in the Pacific Ocean impacting their families and the disciples for God! Today they are an inspiring, warm and loving couple who bring so much to the Westside Church.
