Request for African-American Bone Marrow Donors Featured

Thursday, 07 April 2016 13:29

Delete Blood CancerToni Thomas, a sister in the Columbia Church of Christ (South Carolina), is in need of a bone marrow transplant. A search for a bone marrow match for Toni has been ongoing for several months but, a match has not yet been found. She asks that you please review the donor criteria by logging on to the informational website at deletebloodcancer.org. Even though this request is for more bone marrow donors in general, Toni is African American and there is a great need for more African American donors nationwide.

If you meet the criteria as listed on the website, you will be sent a kit to swab the inside of your mouth, which you will return in a prepaid envelope. It takes approximately five minutes to complete this process.

Please consider going to the bone marrow transplant website and registering. Also, please spread the word among family and friends to do the same so that Toni may find a match for her transplant as soon as possible.

Your five minutes could save someone’s life. Thank you so very much.
