On Sunday, December 5, 2010, the Triangle Church and East Triangle Church of Christ were happy to make the following announcement:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” (John 17:20-23)
The Spirit moves wherever He pleases. The Spirit of God is moving as the leaders from our church, the Triangle Church, and from our sister church, the East Triangle Church have met. We shared our hearts, thoughts, feelings, fears and dreams concerning joining forces and merging back together as one church. By faith, we believe it is God’s will that we reunite as one church, in one location, together for God and His Glory.
We also realize that there are many details and many questions. First, we ask that each brother and sister pray and lay before God this crucial matter. Secondly, we realize there is a full spectrum of thoughts, opinions, and concerns. We ask that you direct your thoughts, concerns, and ideas to our leadership team.
We desire to hear and listen. We ask that we all seek humility, honesty, and love and that we all avoid speculation and gossip so that Satan will not gain a foothold.
Above all, we seek to have the heart and attitude of Christ who prayed, “not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
