Announcing the 2017 Western U.S. Elder’s Conference. This year's conference is being hosted jointly by the Seattle Church of Christ and South Sound Church of Christ and will be held in Seattle, Washington March 23-26.
Over the 11 years of our history, what began with only 12 couples in attendance, has grown to almost 50 meeting this past year in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This conference is designed to address the unique challenges and pressures that face elders and their wives as they work to shepherd their local congregations.
We are very excited about this year's featured speakers, Andy and Tammy Fleming. This is a unique couple with exceptional experience leading churches both foreign and domestic. The Flemings' experience and spiritual knowledge will no doubt be of great benefit to those in attendance.
There will also be classes covering specific topics that are of current interest to us as church elders as well as classes addressing the specific and unique needs of being the wife of an elder.
There will be time for visiting the beautiful city of Seattle, for fellowship, for building and strengthening of relationships between the couples who attend. Over the years we have seen these relationships become a powerful tool for God in building and maintaining unity within and between our churches. Also, knowing we are not alone can be comforting as we deal with challenges that can arise within our congregations.
