Sara Gaffney is your sister in Christ. Like many of us, she diligently began to pray for her family to find God after she became a disciple of Jesus. Sara was baptized a couple years ago in the campus ministry in Boulder, Colorado.Sara's parents were divorced when she was younger and this put a rift in her relationship with her dad. After she was baptized, she began to pray for her parents and she also started calling her dad on the phone every week to reconnect with him and tell him what she was learning about God.
Last month Sara moved home after completing her Bachelor's degree at CU. She intends to go to grad school but she wanted to take a year to save some money and most importantly, to share her faith with her family.
The first week she was home her father came to church with her. When we sat down to study the Bible, I asked him why he was interested in learning about God and he said that he had always believed in God but he had never done anything about it. He told me about his daughter's conversion and he shared that he knew that God had given him his daughter back and he was going to do everything he could to honor God.
This past Sunday, John was baptized into Christ. It was a beautiful testimony with tears of joy. Sara's mom is also studying the Bible and she was there too along with John's current wife, their daughter and Sara's brother. All sitting together praising God! Sara's mother and step mother are both studying the Bible.
