Greetings from Eau Claire, Wisconsin!  We wanted give an update on the many exciting things that have happened regarding the plans to plant a church in the Chippewa Valley, and to continue to ask for prayer and support.

So far nine disciples have moved to the Chippewa Valley to be a part of the mission team.  Not only that, we have had several "locals" visiting the church and coming to Bible studies.  One exciting example of how God is working is one day one of our members was discussing the church plant with some others and a woman overheard him talking.  When the meeting was done, she introduced herself and expressed her desire to find a smaller church in the area that they could serve and help grow!  They have been coming ever since and are studying the Bible.  God has also been dramatically working in their teenage son as he is now also coming to church!

The campus ministry has kicked off this fall, with disciples at both UW Eau Claire and UW Stout in Menominee.  God has blessed us with nearly fifty students who have expressed interest in attending church or Bible Talk!  Another exciting door that is opening is that a coffee shop where one of the mission team members is employed, adjacent to UW Eau Claire, has offered to let us use the coffee shop for Bible study groups and church worship services -- for FREE!  While we enjoyed meeting in our home to worship, we have become quite crowded and are working out the details to move to the coffee shop.  Eventually, when we officially "launch," currently planned for Easter, 2007, we will meet in a local movie theater to worship.

We are continuing to ask for support through involvement in three main areas: prayer team, mission team, and financial support.  We have people all over the country praying for this effort, and are sending them updated prayer requests and answered prayers!  While we are thrilled with the mission team members who have sacrificed so much to move here, we continue to pray for students to attend the highly regarded and beautiful UW Eau Claire and UW Stout.  We also are praying for mature couples to help lead and shepherd the mission team.  We are exceedingly grateful to the churches in the Midwest and Heartland Regions that have contributed or committed to contribute generously to this church plant, but there is definitely a need for continued financial support until we are self-supporting.  If you would like to inquire further regarding any of these areas of support, please contact Joel Peed at This email address is being protected from spambots.
