The ACR Conference was an incredible time where disciples world wide met together with one common goal of being united in Christ and preaching the gospel.  One of the most encouraging events was the good news sharing Saturday night.  Disciples from 19 churches all over the American Commonwealth Region came on stage one by one sharing good news and the amazing things God is doing throughout the Church.

Editor's Note: These notes from the ACR Conference were posted on the website of the Hampton Roads Church.

There have been literally hundreds of baptisms all over the ACR.  In the last two years the Roanoke Valley Church has doubled in size from 25 to 50 members and the Columbus Church of Christ's Teen Ministry has grown from 2 teens to 30!  Tony Williams shared of a small church located in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea which is essentially cut off from civilization where a disciple with only a 3rd-grade education is faithfully leading a group of six strong disciples who this year also doubled in size to 12!  Tom Caswell from the Cincinnati Church of Christ spoke of the wonderful hearts of the disciples there who truly have been giving "as much as they were able, and even beyond" (2 Cor 8:3).  They not only exceeded their goal of $102,000 for missions and raised $115,000 but also set up a live feed and used cameras to talk, pray, and sing online with the disciples they were funding in Indonesia.

Sam Cameron from the Harrisonburg Church shared about a prayer answered when recently one of the traditional Churches of Christ was so inspired by the brothers and sisters in Harrisonburg, VA that they decided to give them their old Church building for only $1!  The Montgomery County Church of Christ spoke of the amazing heart of one of their members who used his entire tax refund to fund a small church planting in his hometown in Cameroon.

Hampton Roads, who had the privilege to host the conference, has had 79 baptisms so far this year with many more eager men and women studying the Bible, and was also able to send 26 campus and teens on a mission trip to Chennai, India for 2 1/2 weeks this summer.  (See earlier story in Disciples Today by clicking Here.  Or read the trip blog Here.)

Needless to say, it was an amazing time of sharing from fellow brothers and sisters from around the region.  It???s obvious that God is working in incredible ways throughout his kingdom and will continue to do so.
