St. Louis Pulse Ministry Gateway City ChurchSomething amazing has been happening at the Gateway City Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Several years ago, the church started a young professionals ministry with a vision of growth that would spread from one small neighborhood to all over the St. Louis area.

At that time, there were around 10-15 disciples who were part of the “Pulse” ministry. The Pulse ministry consists of singles who are out of college and young marrieds who do not yet have a family.

Over the years, we have faced the typical challenges that young professionals ministries all over the country face. We have been stagnant at times, we have had new disciples fall away, and we have had several changes in leadership. Through the challenges we have been able to grow large enough to send the majority of our ministry to downtown St. Louis to help plant a satellite location.

Pulse St. Louis devotional Gateway City ChurchNow, about five years after its creation, we have approximately 50 disciples who are part of the Pulse ministry between our main campus and our downtown campus. We also have new, visionary leadership helping build unity and encourage growth. Hannah and Bobby Ritter have a passion to lead and serve that is reflected in the four small groups, monthly devotionals (pictured at right), and regular “activity-based evangelism” events that Pulse coordinates.

A few recent things that deserve a spotlight are the monthly devotionals with an average attendance of 40 people, an extremely successful Murder Mystery dinner (see above), and bi-weekly prayer times for the men and women of our ministry. Keep your eyes peeled, as this group of young professionals has the tools, leadership, and passion for the gospel that is going to make a mark on St. Louis!
