Currently, the congregation of the Okinawa Central CoC includes roughly 14 adults and 11 children. All but one are military families that are stationed at one of the many bases on Okinawa. Despite their small size, the tightly knit family of disciples took it upon themselves to serve as a mission team, passionately working to plant a sustainable church on the island of Okinawa - one that serves both the service members and the local Okinawans.

The Okinawa church hosts weekly services and Bible Talks accessible to all. Additionally, the Tokyo church periodically volunteers a group of Japanese-speaking disciples who help with reaching the lost among the local people. Please pray for the Okinawa Church!

This year's Easter service was especially inspiring as the Tokyo leadership graciously devoted the entire weekend to encourage the disciples in Okinawa. On Saturday, Tokyo leaders met with Okinawa church families for discipling times and marriage enrichment. Later that evening, Takeshi led a two-part workshop from the series I Choose Us by John and Karen Louis, leaders of the Central Christian Church in Singapore. The focus was to help couples strengthen their love connection through effective communication and mutual love and respect based on Biblical principles.

Finally, He is risen! On Easter Sunday, Ichiro shared his testimony, which drew all hearts to the cross during the communion. Takeshi followed up with an inspiring Easter story of David and Goliath - not a typical Easter message, though nonetheless convicting. Takeshi emphasized how much bigger our God is compared to Goliath. He reminded everyone that we all have faced Goliaths in our life and challenged all to remember that compared to God, Goliath is the underdog and never stands a chance!
