Invitation to Join the Reykjavik, Iceland Mission Team

Sunday, 24 June 2012 01:51

And He said to them, ’Go into ALL the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’”

Mark 16:15-16

The church leaders from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden ask YOU to prayerfully consider the invitation to possibly the greatest spiritual adventure of your life:

Join the mission team to re-plant the Reykjavik, Iceland church of Christ.

We are praying for a start date of September 2012. Launching of the Mission team is dependent upon finding the right Evangelist and Women’s ministry leader couple to lead the endeavor. God has already blessed us with three years of missions funding. The first step is to assemble a team of sold-out, zealous, evangelistic and stout-hearted disciples who are willing to commit three years of their lives, and possibly more, to this effort. They must be willing to seek employment or acceptance at the University of Reykjavik, as they must be self-supporting members of society as well as of the church. (We may consider disciples who can commit less time.)

Iceland needs disciples who are full of the Spirit and wisdom, people devoted to prayer and the Word of God, fishers of men and women who make the most use of every opportunity. This mission team will be responsible for meeting thousands of Icelanders, sharing Jesus with them, studying the Bible with them, baptizing them, then continuing to teach them to obey the commands of Jesus through on-going discipleship.

Currently, the church in Reykjavik consists of one Bible talk of very devoted disciples, who are calling to you like the man in Paul’s Macedonian vision –“Come over to Macedonia (Iceland) and help us!” (Acts 16:9)

Do you want to go into all the world?

Do you want to proclaim the Gospel to all creation?

Do you want to take on the Iceland challenge?

If so, contact your current ministry leader and seek their advice about this missions opportunity. If they feel this is a great spiritual opportunity both for you and for us, contact
