The book of Matthew starts with the geneology of Jesus and his birth. It starts with Emmanuel – God with us. It ends with Jesus telling his disciples he will be with them always.
Some think Matthew was written this way, because it was addressed to Jewish believers whose temple had just been destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Matthew was telling his readers, that they are part of an epic story, where God was ever present, and that the story wasn't over.
When we’re going through trials, it helps to know that our story is wrapped in a bigger story.
This video, produced by Third Drive Media, is part one of a series called Storyline. It tells the story of three generations of believers and their journey of faith under Soviet rule. Daniel and Maria are disciples in the Moscow Church of Christ. It’s an inspiring story of faith, danger and love. More importantly, it’s about the larger story of God, and his Kingdom.
