Continuing the Good Work in Honduras

Financial need threatens HOPE worldwide – Honduras’ capacity to serve.

Times are tough. But imagine how it affects those living on less than $1 a day. HOPE worldwide – Honduras serves these families living in a nation ranked as the poorest in the Western Hemisphere. The HOPE worldwide staff understands too well the vulnerability and needs of the poor in good times and especially in bad.

Despite limited funding, the team in Honduras continues to serve through three program areas including education, medical and senior outreach.

HOPE worldwide – Honduras’ programs currently include:

Chamelecon
The Medical Center provides pediatric and adult medical care, dental services. 4,200+ patients per year are treated. Through our senior care, volunteers provide health information and services to the elderly.

Choloma
The Tiburcio Martinez School of HOPE worldwide educates 250 children ages 6-18 annually.

Monteverde
250 students depend on HOPE worldwide's School of HOPE to provide a safe place to learn and develop.

We want to thank the Orlando Internal Medicine group which provides the salary for one dentist and one general practice doctor along with Alcoa who is helping with the construction of a new school building. Unfortunately, there is still a shortfall of US$8,000 for 2008.
