Staten Island Church Continues to Help Neighbors after Super Storm Sandy

The New York City Church of Christ on Staten Island has been busy meeting the needs of our community and have enjoyed several honors recently as a result. The honors have come in recognition and also in the people we’ve served along side with the Red Cross, HOPE Worldwide, and Project Hospitality.

On October 29, the New York and New Jersey coastline suffered significant damage and loss of life in the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Like several other coastal communities, Staten Island’s coast experienced a significant loss of life and property. The disciples of Staten Island sought to use our five loaves and two fish to do what we could to help those in need. Disciples helped in rescue efforts, served bag lunches and pizzas, served with the Red Cross, donated toys and assisted in many other ways. Through the help of disciples from far off places, we’ve also distributed blankets and hand warmers.
