Reducing Risk Before Disaster

Most disaster response activities and investment are made after a disaster strike. However, eight major Indonesia cities are investing in tools and preparations to deliver dynamic and creative disaster response education to school children. The result HOPE worldwide Indonesia has trained 5,500 teachers to educate 240,000 school children in just three years. HOPE worldwide Disaster Response Division Leader, Charles Ham recently made a presentation to the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) Global Platform in Geneva, Switzerland.
