The Swamp Camp in Georgia, a beloved youth camp in our fellowship, is taking its first voyage into South America by bringing Swamp Corps to Belo Horizonte, Brazil this week. Swamp Corps is the generative arm of the Swamp Camp that aims to build biblically-based summer camps in countries around the world. Read the following article by Chuck Lorbeer, who shares the good news of this program.
First of all thanks to Jesus Christ for allowing Jeff Rorabaugh, director of Swamp Camp, to choose Belo Horizonte for this amazing event! Thanks to Marcos and Denise for stepping right up and agreeing to partner with Jeff and the Swamp. And thanks to you all for helping to host this event and taking us into your families. I am so excited to be returning to visit your wonderful city, and church. I truly leave my heart there each time I visit, and know that the Swamp Corps will change so many lives! Thanks for being a part of this historic event! My theme scripture for this trip will be 1 Samuel 6.

It shows the significance of Belo Horizonte and how God is going to use your church! All summer long there has been a growing excitement about the Swamp camp coming to South America.
Many thanks to the Belo Horizonte church for hosting the camp, and all those from around Brazil who have stepped up to make this happen. In one of the darkest hours of the Old Testament, Israel was defeated in battle, Eli and his sons died, and the ark of God was captured. Its return to the people of God is a type of the resurrection, of baptism, and how God moves, unexpectedly, mysteriously, with amazing results. In 1 Samuel 6, the ark of God unexpectedly appears in the field of farmers. This was an unbelievable occurrence, and shows how God and Jesus continue to work….at a time least expected.The Swamp Camp in Georgia (http://campswamp.com/) is doing just this. God has worked powerfully through this camp, and similar other ones in our brotherhood (such as teen camp in Orlando, etc.). In 2007 the Belo Horizonte church hosted a unity conference in Brazil at the exact location where the Brazil Swamp camp will take place this summer. This conference was attended by many disciples and their children from all over Brazil. God moved in amazing ways in that conference and is still moving to this day. We believe that now, as many of these children return to the exact same spot six years later, God will move in their hearts just as he moved by bringing the ark back to Israel.
The future of our world lies with our children. We cannot forget that our children are the heirs of a spiritual revolution. We now pass the torch to the next generation. We believe God is going to move powerfully this summer in Brazil. We believe that those who come will see first hand the Spirit of God move. Sometimes God moves unexpectedly as he did in 1 Samuel 6. Likewise, pray that the teens in Brazil will experience a historic awakening to the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and that a flame will be kindled in their hearts of the presence of the living God. They will then go back to their homes, as the ark of God returned to Israel, ready to light the torch in the world around them. Please know that our generation will pay any price to assure the kindling of the spiritual flame in our youth. The faith and devotion which Swamp is bringing to Brazil will light their country and all their youth, and the spark from that flame can truly bring the light of Jesus Christ to this world.
