How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” -- Isaiah 52:7
How can I thank you for what you do? Our family of five moved to Cambodia four years ago. It has been our dream to serve in the mission field and God opened doors for us to serve at the HOPE worldwide programs in the country—through the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE and the Goldstone School of HOPE worldwide. With our three young children, we came wide-eyed and looked forward to the adventure God had in store and living our dream. In a foreign land, amidst a different culture and a strange tongue, we tried to find ways to keep connected to our brothers and sisters around the world.
Disciples Today has been a lifeline for me in Cambodia.
The Phnom Penh Church of Christ has been a wonderful home for our family. They have provided us with warm fellowship and we have built great relationships there. Along the way, DT has been with us in our journey. We have listened to lessons from various churches around the world throughout those four years in audio and in video through DToday.tv—in English! We connected with disciples and churches in the places we visited through ‘Church Locator.’ And it has never failed that wherever we traveled, visiting the ICOC church becomes the highlight of our trips.
We went on journeys with other disciples following in the ‘Steps of the Apostles’ through DT’s announcements. We prayed for events happening to disciples around the world—whether they be disasters, political upheavals or just plain, wonderful news. And many others have prayed for us and for the benevolent work in Cambodia!
How beautiful your feet must be!
We made it to conferences through your links to registration websites. We have taken advantage of your published devotionals, studies and lessons as we read of brothers and sisters around the world who have taken on serving in the mission field—sharing in similar struggles and victories in our walks with our God. When we read their stories, we are reminded of the power of the Spirit that binds us all, as we learn that wherever we may be, we are united by the bond of Jesus’ sacrifice.
After four years of living in Cambodia, we were no longer strangers in a foreign land. We are family. As we wrap up this season of our life, I want to thank you, once again, for the countless ways DT has helped in making our Cambodian adventure an amazing experience!
Sincerely,
The Fetherman Family
