Everything You Wanted to Know About Sects We heard David Bercot’s take on how sects arise—including the way things fell down at the Council of Nicea over important minutiae. Gauging from the sounds of the crowd and the questions from Saturday’s session, The Spirit of Sectarianism was the most stimulating session for the majority of the participants.

It is remarkable how much international media attention is focused on the USA presidential election -- another reminder that our world is becoming a closer neighborhood. The Turning Point ministry in the Los Angeles Church of Christ has some great resources helping us see this event through spiritual lenses. And Turning Point member Lance Tracy provides three mock negative campaign ads against Jesus as Messiah.

The Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) stands at the center of the church’s life and ministry. Because this passage is so crucial to the work of the church, it deserves our constant study and reflection.
