On May 18, our Church in Chengdu, Sichuan, set up teams for serving the earthquake relief and future rehabilitation. It will be a long term mission and service.

Combining the current situation of the devastating Sichuan earthquake with HOPE worldwide in Hong Kong, and brothers and sisters from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia who used to participate in disaster relief and rehabilitation, we decided to put our emphasis on the following three areas, school rebuilding, orphan adoption and children protection.

Our teams are made up of six groups led by the chief coordinator, Kevin who is part of the church staff. The six groups are: Financial team, Training team, PR team, School Rebuilding team, Orphan Adoption team and Children Protection team.

The Financial team is in charge of raising and managing funds. The Training team is focusing on training volunteers who will work with children after trauma. The PR team is responsible for communications and establishing CI of HOPEww and our Church. The School Rebuilding team will develop chances for HOPEww and our church to contribute in school rebuilding in the future. Orphan Adoption team is devoted to assist brothers and sisters in adopting orphans. Children protection team is focusing on developing programs to help rehabilitate the spirit of children after the trauma.

Please pray for our efforts and that God will be glorified.
