The Promise Is For Us And Our Children..

  Tuesday, 01 June 2010 22:00

The last month a little fragile girl of 13 got baptized in the Kiev Church of Christ - because of her faith in Lord Jesus. She is not the first "Kingdom Kid" to be baptized here - but this baptism was a very special day for the many - because Sasha's parents lead our Youth and Family Ministry in the Kiev Church of the International Churches of Christ.

In her early age Sasha has already proven her faith -and not once - long before her baptism. She went though perscutions and suffered beating from the girls at school - because she held on her convictions about purity and honesty. She is a humble and convicted girl who wants to please God above all. At her baptism you can see many adults sharing about her faith witnessing Sasha's good confession.

This weekend the Kiev Church is going to celebrate its 18th B-day! Having gone through corporate repentance in February of this year the church is strong and growing. Yura and Lena Kovtonuk - got baptized as singles in the beginning of the the church, now they have two daughters - Sasha, 13, and her little sister Olya, 8, who is now in preteens ministry. They as well as Shawn and Lena Wooten, whose son Andrew got baptized 6 month ago, are the oldest parents among fulltime ministry staff in Kiev - whuch may sound funny for many of you, brothers and sisters. Yes, we have a long way to go here in Ukraine. But we 've come a long way too. Our God is faithful. He will bring us to our ultimate goal - his glory in Heaven - as we go the way of the Cross. For the promise is for US and OUR children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.
