Alaska The Great Land Christian Church of Anchorage, Alaska invites you to apply for a summer ministry internship like no other. An internship that will stretch your faith, stretch your character, and stretch your physical boundaries. Welcome to the Gateway to the Arctic Camp.

What is it?

The Great Land Christian Church, in cooperation with the Alaska Chapter of HOPE worldwide, is building a brand new, unique youth camp in Talkeetna, Alaska. Today’s youth are becoming increasingly disconnected from the food they eat, and the work that is required to get it to the table. This camp will be an agriculturally-based, service-oriented youth camp that focuses on agricultural education, but will also teach the value of great work ethic and service. Ultimately, this camp will assist in the positive development of disadvantaged youth and will impact many lives.

Build something! Like cabins, faith, and character!

What are you looking for?

We are looking for interns that are willing to work hard, get dirty, and learn new skills to turn this vision into a reality. Interns will be a major part of building cabins, clearing trees, preparing land, coordinating volunteers, and more in order to prepare the camp for use. Interns must be willing to live off the grid without electricity and running water. Construction skills are preferred, but we are willing to work with anyone who is willing to learn and to commit to a summer of service in Alaska. A desire to serve, build character and strengthen faith is a must.

This could be YOU!

What are the benefits?

Training: interns will receive training both spiritually and technically for assigned tasks. Spiritual training will focus on service and pushing the limits of faith and character. Technical training will include the use of various tools and equipment, volunteer recruitment and management, and other necessary skills.

Housing: interns will receive FREE room AND board (that’s right, all of your meals) for the duration of their service. And don’t worry: hard work means GREAT food.

But the real benefit: Being part of an incredible, meaningful experience that you will remember for a lifetime. Click here for an application

Is this like any other ministry internship out there? NOPE. But is it ministry? YOU BET IT Is.
Interested? Contact Nick Morrill for more details and instructions about how to apply. All applications are due soon  in order to make decisions by mid-January.
