Greetings from the Capital District Church of Christ in Albany, New York. The brothers and sisters here are excited to announce Albany Missions, 2013. The Capital District Church is partnering with the New York City Church of Christ to place a renewed emphasis on reaching the capital city of New York state for Jesus. As part of this plan, my wife and I (Jim & Evelyn Rempel) are thrilled to be moving soon to Albany to lead the small group of incredible disciples already here.
Another aspect of this partnership is to send out a call throughout the Tri-State area and beyond for help with this mission! We are praying for God’s spirit to place a dream on the hearts of several disciples to come and help us preach God’s Word to a very important, but very lost, city. We are asking for college students and recent college graduates to consider taking the one (or two!) year challenge here in Albany. The State University at Albany has incredible campus ministry potential with over 18,000 students.
Albany also presents unique opportunities for singles and young professionals. Recent studies have shown that the city of Albany has 47% of its population between the ages of 18 and 35. We are praying for singles and young professionals to help us reach this segment of the population. The state and federal governments have also invested billions of dollars into the field of nanotechnology, with Albany at its center. If this is your field, please consider us.
Lastly, if you are an empty nester and looking for a challenge we can use you. The Capital District Church is a relatively young group with young families. We would love to have you share your wisdom and spiritual insight as we build strong marriages and families that honor God.
