A Memorial of Service
I woke up this morning in Hyannis, Massachusetts to the news of Senator Ted Kennedy's passing just 2 miles down the road in Hyannisport. Another 10 miles away on Martha's Vineyard is President Obama who chose Cape Cod for his family's annual vacation. I had no idea when I planned with my wife this one-day detour on our way to a church conference in Providence, Rhode Island that such news events would be unfolding so nearby. It seems like only yesterday that we were all celebrating the passage of the Kennedy Serve America Act and now its sponsor is gone.

The HOPE worldwide and Benevolence Committee July 2009 Report
“All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor.” –Gal 2:10.
The brothers and sisters on the HOPE worldwide and Benevolence Committee have continued meeting together on a monthly basis, besides having extensive individual phone calls, emails and fellowship meetings between members. In the past year we have seen God bless our work in a powerful way, with the help of your prayers. We have had many valuable suggestions from Committee members and others. We treasure two-way communication between the churches and HOPE worldwide, and we welcome the comments and suggestions of church leaders and all disciples.
