A Family of their Own

Razak and Uttam became “Best Friends Forever” at Asharan Orphanage in New Delhi, India. Razak didn’t know why he was at an orphanage, away from his father. He slowly adjusted to his new life and learned to laugh and play. As they saw their other friends go with adoptive parents, they too wanted families of their own. This past March, both Uttam and Razak’s dreams came true – they were adopted into loving families.

HOPE worldwide is very grateful to the International Churches of Christ for their faithful support of our work for the poor for many years. We want to help you as ministers to keep members informed about the great work God is doing through HOPE worldwide.

We are starting a "story of the month" that can be used as part of a Sunday service (poor collection) if you so choose. This is a resource to help you communicate with members about what their giving is doing for the poor and needy of the world.

My Journey to Asharan

Love helps a child overcome insurmountable challenges

Varsha’s Story as told by the Asharan Staff, Delhi, India

My journey on earth must have begun at a hospital where my mom delivered me. Then I was lying on the ground near a bus stop all by myself, left to continue my journey alone. But I was too small.

A kind-hearted policeman picked me up and brought me to Asharan.
