2014 International Day of GivingThe light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” – John 1:5

At some point in our lives, we have all experienced the pain and suffering of hunger, illness or even a disaster. And at some point in our lives, we have had someone reach out to us, sharing the light of hope and changing the course our lives. Now as members of the HOPE worldwide community, we have the opportunity to similarly carry the light of compassion and generosity to a hurting world.

On November 9, we celebrate the 2014 International Day of Giving and the light that we pass on to those in need around the world. Already, your generosity has helped to ease the suffering of our partner churches and communities affected by the recent Ebola outbreak in West Africa. Your support is also providing quality healthcare in Cambodia, English education programs in Bolivia and disaster relief supplies in the Philippines. Please continue to join us in being a light for the poor, just as others have been a light for us.

4Star 125x125As the International Day of Giving quickly approaches, we want to share some exciting news from Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator:

“Based on the most recent information available, we have issued a new rating for your organization. We are proud to announce HOPE worldwide has earned a 4-star rating. Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Approximately a quarter of the charities we evaluate have received our highest rating, indicating that HOPE worldwide outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates HOPE worldwide from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

To God be the glory!
