Across the country, HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross are canvassing homes with fire safety tips and supplies. The Boston Church of Christ is joining the team to help save lives in Boston.
Thanks to volunteers like the Mitchell family, this MLK Day will have a bigger impact than ever.
This is the second year the Mitchell family and the Boston congregation came together on MLK Day to distribute fire safety tips.
Last year, a home in their neighborhood burned down and a child was killed in the fire. Chip said "The impact hit us hard, and because it happened so near, we all felt the tragic circumstances that much more." Wanting to do all they could to prevent this from happening again, the Boston church sprang into action, partnering with HOPE worldwide and the American Red Cross to spread the information people needed to stay safe.
This year, Mitchell and the Boston Church family want to reach 30,000 homes with their fire safety tips.
