At the tender age of six, Priscilla Templer loves to read and has quiet times on her own with her “big girl” NIV Bible. Watch and listen as Priscilla shares her quiet time with her mom, Nadine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSicogWkHy0 The Templers believe children should begin having quiet times at a young age. Then it becomes a habit and doesn’t have to be forced or taught later. Some parents are reluctant to teach their kids to have quiet times, fearing they will enforce something the kids may rebel against later.
The Templers disagree with that perspective. They have five children, and Priscilla is the youngest. All five learned to have quiet times when they were young and they have continued through their lives. The oldest two are now disciples and leaders in the church.
I want to encourage everyone to read the bible to your children daily and help them have their own quiet times when they are able to read. It is never too early to build a relationship with God.
Mark and Nadine Templer adopted Priscilla from Chennai, South India, when she was four years old. She spoke only Tamil, but in a very short time she learned to speak and read English. Follow Priscilla on YouTube as she posts more of her quiet times.
