“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.” Acts 2:1-5 (NIV)Can you imagine how amazing it would have been to be there on the day of Pentecost? To have been in a place where all nations were gathered to worship God? To be where the Word of God was powerfully proclaimed by men filled with the Holy Spirit? How amazing and awe-inspiring would that have been?
The ICMC US West is our opportunity to experience a modern-day “Pentecost”. God-fearing men and women from campuses all over the Western US will be gathered in one place to celebrate God and his mighty power. They will join together in worship of the Almighty. Faithful men and women filled with the Holy Spirit will boldly proclaim the Word of God. You will leave inspired, refreshed, and energized.
The ICMC is life changing on many levels. Not only will you be inspired to take your walk with God to new heights, you will be strengthened in your faith and perseverance as you realize that there are thousands of campus students fighting the same battles you are. From this, you will leave with friendships that will be with you for the rest of your life.
We speak from personal experience. Between us, we have attended 11 campus ministry conferences! In fact, our lives were radically changed for the better when we met at the ICMC in Boston in 2007 and we got married a few years later. You never know who you will meet or how God is going to change your life at an ICMC!
We are also really excited to be the activities coordinators for this year’s ICMC US West. Being held at the YMCA in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado, there are so many activities to participate in, both indoors and outdoors.
