Today we are sharing some encouraging news from the church in Leon, Guanajuato. This relatively young church recently raised a special missions contribution so they too could participate in the mission work in Mexico. Editor's Note: This news was posted in The Mission Diaries, Jaime De Anda's blog chronicling "works, events and ideas in Mexico and Central America Missions." Zacatecas is the capital city of the Mexican state of Zacatecas, which borders the state of Guanajuato to the northwest.
Today we are sharing some encouraging news from the church in Leon, Guanajuato. This relatively young church recently raised a special missions contribution so they too could participate in the mission work in Mexico. Here is something from the minister in Leon, Francisco Botello:
This past Sunday, January 28, the Leon Church of Christ bid farewell to our beloved brother and sister in Christ, Fernando Avila and Claudia Herrera. We are sending them off to be part of the mission team to the city of Zacatecas! Fernando and Claudia were converted at the Tecnologico de Leon, five and four years ago, respectively.
They were part of our college ministry and had recently graduated, but they???re willing to give up job opportunities here to move away and help to advance God???s Kingdom. We saw them arrive, we saw them grow, and now we see them leave. It is a testimony of God???s plans for His children. We want for all the churches to be encouraged and continue working on the task that Jesus left us, knowing that today???s converts will become tomorrow???s missionaries.
Congratulations to Fernando and Claudia. Our prayers go with you!
