One of the special songs performed at Reach2016 was a song entitled "Reach (Upside Down)" written by Rick Biordi, Worship Director and Youth & Family Ministry Leader for the Portland Church of Christ in Oregon. This song debuted Saturday night after Doug Arthur's message and before Steve Johnson's new mini-musical “Beyond Reach.” In preparation for the Reach conference, Rick had the idea of incorporating the Reach theme, the Upside Down musical and the songs “Men Who Dream” and “I Hear God Singing to Me,” as a dedication to our past, and inspiration for our future.
With over 17,000 people in attendance, Rick, along with an all-star band that included Kareah Nicoson, Teresa Brown, Ralph Beerhorst, Jim Richardson, Steve Bradley, Steve Pederson, Marcius Jackson, J Brian Craig, Pete Wade and a choir made up of brothers and sisters from all over the country performed "Reach (Upside Down)." During the song, the congregation raised their cell phones, and thousands of lights illuminated the dome. It was a beautiful tribute to the unity of our congregation.
